On Aug. 15, 1943 Betty was united in marriage to Roy F. Fieser at the Norwich Methodist Church and they established their family in Norwich. Betty was very musical. Musical talents included playing cornet, piano, accordion, singing at weddings, funerals and participating in numerous minstrel fundraisers performed by her Sunday School class. Betty was also very crafty. She baked wedding cakes, sewed wedding dresses, bridesmaid's dresses, most of her children's clothes, quilted, knitted, crocheted, and conquered most new crafts that came along. She was quite artistic. Expressions of this talent were found in many oil paintings, as a silver smith, creative photography, and in her ability to make anything she set her mind to. Other roles she mastered were as mentor to young brides and mothers, teaching canning skills and babies 101, and cutting hair and giving curly perms. Favorite pastimes and beloved memories involved fishing, hunting, reading, and successful casino trips. Although, not certified, she performed many medical procedures for friends, family, and co-workers. She was a protective lioness when it came to her children as well as making doll clothes and taking them to the creek for memories of fishing and swimming. Betty always provided a loving ear to young people and lent a sympathetic shoulder to any troubled soul. Betty Fieser shared her compassionate heart and heaping measure of talent with a multitude of people and generations. Everyone is better having known and loved her.
